Our Commitment

EMR has a heritage dating back to the 1950s and since then, we have built a culture and way of working that has helped shape EMR into the leading company it is today.

Our Code of Conduct sets out this winning formula, providing a simple guide to the EMR way of doing business and the principles that should guide our actions and decisions. We want everyone at EMR to uphold these values, try to inspire them in others and hold us to account if we fall short so we can learn and improve.

We’d always prefer to deal with any issues locally and would encourage colleagues to speak to their local manager in instances where you believe violations of policies or standards have occurred. You can also chose to speak to your local HR business partner or to any member of the senior team or Sheppard family regarding your concern.

In situations where you prefer to place an anonymous report in confidence, you are encouraged to use this hotline, hosted by a third party hotline provider, EthicsPoint.

You are encouraged to submit reports relating to violations of the EMR way as laid out in our Code of Conduct, as well as asking for guidance related to policies and procedures.

Speaking up – 100% confidential AND anonymous

The information you provide will be sent to us by EthicsPoint on a totally confidential and anonymous basis if that is what you want. It would be very helpful if you could give us some detail, especially about where you work, your department / location etc. as the more specific you are, the easier it will be to investigate your report. However, you do not have to give your name and you can speak up entirely anonymously if you’d prefer as we would rather hear your concerns rather than you not speaking up due to fear of being identified. You have our guarantee that your comments will be heard.

Non-Retaliation

As outlined in our Code of Conduct, we have a strict non-retaliation policy for anyone choosing to speak up either internally via their line manager or senior management or via Ethics Point if they do not choose to remain anonymous.

Any retaliation against anyone who raises a concern will not be tolerated and will be treated as serious misconduct. All concerns will be handled professionally and sensitively, and no action will be taken against you for speaking up if you have not chosen to remain anonymous, even if your concerns end up being unfounded. Only by investigating and understanding all concerns can we continue to improve our culture, systems of control and training in the organisation.

See the EthicsPoint FAQs for more information.

To Make a Report

After you complete your report, you will be assigned a unique code called a "report key." Write down your report key and password and keep them in a safe place. After 5-6 business days, use your report key and password to check your report for feedback or questions.
